gift guide: blankets
hug me
WHEN THE shorter days settle in, it becomes more and more tempting to snuggle up with a cozy blanket and hot cup of tea and just chill. Like in the middle of the afternoon. And watch maybe *just one* episode of Bridgerton. But… then I would never get back up again and everyone would starve, because impossibly soft, cozy blankets have a way of sucking you in like a comforting warm hug and who wants to let go of that to make dinner? Which is precisely why blankets make SUCH GOOD GIFTS. Sorry, I had to yell at you because I’m guessing you’re still thinking about hugs and Lord Hastings.
PEOPLE HAVE been knitting, sewing and quilting blankets for their special people since the beginning of time, as a beautiful, tangible and huggable symbol of their support, love and affection. Super luxe soft blankets make really lovely, loving, heartfelt Support, Sympathy or Get Well gifts. They envelop your special person in the feeling of a comforting warm hug from you, which is especially meaningful if you can’t give one IRL. The same goes for babies of course, whether brand spanking new or growing bigger each day.
BUT THEY also make awesome gifts for just about ANY occasion and ANYONE on your list for those very same reasons. My boys LOVE a good cozy blanket and carry them all over the house for spontaneous snuggling. We bring our awesome Rumpls camping for extra toasty campfires. We have little tugs of war over the ridiculously luxe-feeling faux fur Anthropologie one while we cuddle during movie night. They just feel good. And there are SO many adorable, gorgeous, weighted, luxe, impossibly soft, handwoven, recycled, amazing, snuggly, chic blankets in the world that your only struggle will be choosing one (Oh wait, I can totally help with that). Here are a few that we have and love and some that I’m just totally drooling over. You can never have too many, right?! So go snuggle one up and dream about Lord Hastings. Er, I mean, meditate about world peace. xo
