I JUST loved finding my Easter Basket overflowing with adorable, colorful springy goodies + candy [and ALWAYS a stuffed animal]. I mean, my mom rocked Easter Bunny duty. But in addition to the obvious excitement of scoring a bunch of new treasures, I think I was also delighted by what all of those bright colors and cutie woodland creatures represented. Easter feels sort of like the gateway to what’s coming next; to carefree summer days and bright sunshine and hitting the road and SO much fun. I feel the same excitement for the season ahead when putting together my own boys’ Easter baskets and use it for inspiration so that they mostly end up filled with fun stuff for the summer sunshine. Things like pool or beach toys, summer clothes, lazy-day activities and stuff for travel can all fuel that giddy anticipation AND have purpose beyond the big day.
